Yashar Barut is the founder of Power Market Solutions, a microgrid/battery storage/market strategy company. Prior to that he was the director of Power Fundamentals in Citigroup Commodities Trading for 10 years. He has over 20 years of energy market experience in various energy companies and trading organizations, which included an major integrated oil and gas company, utility companies, a private equity investment company, a hedge fund and an investment bank. In these companies, he contributed as a short and long term fundamental strategist, a risk manager, a structurer and a portfolio manager. Prior to joining the private sector, he was an assistant professor of economics at Rice University in Houston. He has a Ph.D. in Mathematical Economics and Master of Economics and Master of Mathematics from Purdue University and undergraduate degrees in Mathematics and Electrical Engineering from Bosphorus University, Turkey
