Bill Becker is passionate about the decentralization and de-carbonization of the world’s energy, integrating renewables, storage, and flexible loads with conventional generation at the edge of the grid. As Business Development for Hybrid Microgrids at ComAp Controls, Bill enables hybrid microgrid control solutions integrating renewables and storage to reduce cost and carbon while ensuring resilience. Bill's journey in renewable energy began in 2010 with Spirae in Colorado where he led business development for microgrids, distributed energy resources (DER) management, and integration of renewable energy for utility and behind the meter commercial and industrial customers. Bill’s career started at Woodward Governor in application engineering and management before moving to strategic product line management and sales focused on gas turbine controls. He received his bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Colorado State University. Bill volunteers as the vice-chair of the Energy Board of the City of Fort Collins, Colorado, a citizen board advising City Council on energy and its impact on community climate goals.
