Laura Wright is vice president of technical services, leading asset & records management, distribution engineering, distribution planning, investment strategy, special projects, innovation, data sciences and data analytics, Smart Grid initiatives, and vegetation management. Wright reports to the BGE president and chief operating officer.
Professional History
Wright was previously director of transmission & substation field services at BGE. In that role, she lead the organization responsible for operations, maintenance, and construction of transmission and distribution substations and OH Transmission lines.
Wright has held several positions across BGE/Exelon since 1998 including, director of transmission & substation engineering, director of Exelon Utilities security programs and compliance, manager of design & engineering, manager of asset records management, manager of project management, principal engineer in meter engineering, and roles ranging from associate engineer through supervisor within automation & technology.
Civic Involvement
Laura Wright is a board member of Civic Works, a non-profit organization deeply committed to service, that strengthens Baltimore’s communities through education, skills development, and community service. Also, Wright is the Booster Club president for the Dallastown Area High School Marine Corps JROTC program.
Education
Wright earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Maryland. She also earned both a bachelor’s in mathematics and a bachelor’s degree in physics, with honors, from Notre Dame of Maryland University.
