Veronica Szczerkowski began work in the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, Bureau of Energy and Technology Policy in 2011. She is the program coordinator for Connecticut's Microgrid Program. Veronica and her team developed Connecticut’s Microgrid Program in 2012 and has helped the program evolve over the last decade. Veronica formed relationships with the project developers and municipal staff to help guide the microgrid projects through construction to operation. As a member of the Energy Policy staff, she also assists in the analysis of the state’s current energy environment to recommend energy strategies to advance the State’s energy goals. Previously Veronica worked as a Utilities Examiner in the Department of Public Utility Control for 18 years. In that position she reviewed utility rate applications and determined how much the utility should receive for just and reasonable revenue requirements. Veronica began her state service at the Office of the State Treasurer in the Cash Management Division. Veronica has a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Connecticut.
