Through this workshop, participants will gain a clear understanding of microgrids, their growing role in energy resilience, and the challenges of designing them effectively in Xendee. We will cover key topics such as managing diverse energy resources, optimizing loads and tariffs, and integrating technologies like PV, battery storage, generators, and other emerging distributed energy resources (DERs).
The Arizona State University and Xendee teams will do this by using Xendee DESIGN to analyze and model two distinct real world case studies - a Virtual Power Plant (VPP) project and a data center project. These case studies will provide practical insights into how foundational concepts and design principles can be applied to create distributed energy systems that are cost-effective, reliable, and sustainable.
