Michael is a Manager within RMI’s US Program, and an expert in microgrid development and energy resilience. His work currently focuses on helping lower- and middle-income communities develop renewable microgrids that can provide resilience, lower communities’ energy costs, reduce emissions, and create benefits for the electricity grid. His work has been featured in The Miami Herald, Scientific American, Fast Company, The Hill, and other outlets. Michael has spent time on a variety of projects at RMI, including three years focused on microgrid deployment in lower- and middle-income communities in Puerto Rico with the objective of creating a community driven, resilient, renewable, and affordable energy system. He spent over two years on the RMI Mobility Team, where he focused on bus electrification, the Mobility Innovation Lab, and fleet electrification. Before joining RMI, Michael worked with automotive OEMs including BMW, Nissan, and Jaguar Land Rover. He specialized in electric vehicle launches, including the BMW i3 and Nissan Leaf.
