Mason is currently the Director of Gas Engineering for CenterPoint Energy’s Texas region. In this role, Mason is responsible for all gas engineering and CAD activities in the region. He also oversees the development of strategic and annual capital budgets for the rehabilitation and reinforcement of the distribution system and manage annual capital expenditures for the natural gas system. Mason also supports regulatory filings in Texas and collaborates with Legal and Regulatory to provide assistance as necessary.

Mason joined CenterPoint Energy in 2012 and has held various roles with increasing responsibility at the company, working in the transmission and distribution pipeline divisions, mobile gas supply and strategic planning for growth and reliability. Prior to joining CNP, Mason spent five years as a Combustion and Facilities engineer with Hoerbiger Engineering Services. Mason’s broad range of knowledge includes integrity testing, transmission pipeline design, measurement station design, compressed natural gas applications, capital budget execution, strategic growth planning, and regulatory support as an expert witness. Mason has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Vanderbilt University and is a registered Professional Engineer in the state of Texas.
