Andrea Pivatello designs and delivers distributed energy and microgrid solutions for industrial and infrastructure facilities operating under grid constraints. His work focuses on practical, low-carbon systems such as on-site generation, cogeneration, and hybrid renewable microgrids.

With over 20 years of international experience across Europe, Asia, and the Americas, Andrea has led real-world projects involving gas-engine cogeneration, battery energy storage, and demand-side energy optimization. He supports projects from early feasibility and system design through commissioning and operational optimization, often in environments where grid capacity and reliability are critical constraints.

This hands-on experience is directly applicable to U.S. ports implementing shore power, where electrification requirements must be balanced with grid limitations, reliability, and cost.

Andrea also works in hydrogen technologies, including green hydrogen production and safety engineering, and serves as an Expert Evaluator for the European Commission in energy innovation. He holds an MSc in Materials Engineering and an Executive Certificate in Energy Management from Politecnico di Milano (2025) and is a licensed Engineer.
