Alex Young is the Senior Manager of Defense and Federal Customer Solutions at the Edison Electric Institute (EEI), where she leads efforts to enhance collaboration between investor-owned utilities and the U.S. government through energy, resilience, and sustainability initiatives. In this role, she manages key forums for EEI member companies to engage with their key customers on policy issues, develops strategic partnerships that enhance energy resilience, and fosters an environment for mutual success between the electric power industry and critical customers. This includes oversight of the execution of EEI’s Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) with the U.S. Army, Navy, and Air Force, facilitating joint resilience planning activities at military installations across the country. Alex is also involved in EEI’s operational efforts to support grid security.
Prior to joining EEI, Alex served as an Energy Resilience Analyst at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, where she conducted strategic analysis, resource development, and project management to advance the energy resilience of public corporations and federal facilities. She also supported the U.S. Army Office of Energy Initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of more than 30 energy and resilience projects nationwide.
Alex holds a Master of Science in Environmental Resource Management from the University of South Carolina and a Bachelor of Science in Community, Environment, and Development from Pennsylvania State University.
