Dennis Garrett is an accomplished energy industry operating executive with a demonstrated ability to deliver mission-critical results. With extensive experience managing operational support services and project activities in high-risk environments, he has successfully led infrastructure projects in the power, renewable energy, clean energy, communications, heavy civil, and oil & gas sectors.
Dennis has an impressive entrepreneurial background, having founded and operated a $15 million distribution company, a $20 million crane and heavy equipment company, and a $10 million energy operating services business. His expertise extends to managing complex energy support operations for utilities, upstream gas operations, and renewable energy project developers.
Recognized for his achievements, Dennis was profiled in the Columbia University textbook "Operations Management" by Professor Martin K. Starr. He has been quoted in articles in Microgrid Knowledge and other clean energy publications. He has also spoken at the GRID FWD Conference for Western Utilities, served on the Utility Equity in a Clean Energy Economy Collaborative, and facilitated panels at the Microgrid Think Policy Summits.
Throughout his career, Dennis has successfully managed over $150 million in energy infrastructure projects, working with prestigious clients such as ConEdison, The New York Power Authority, Delmarva Power, Baltimore Gas & Electric, EQT, and The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey, among others.
Before his entrepreneurial ventures, Dennis served as a commissioned officer and platoon leader in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He later held management positions in several Fortune 500 companies, including Computer Science Corporation, Amtrak, Cintas Corporation, and Federal Express.
Dennis is an active member of several organizations, including The Eastern Minority Supplier Development Council Board of Directors and the EMSDC Energy Industry Group. He also serves on The Board of Directors of AHARI, an organization dedicated to building affordable housing for homeless veterans. Additionally, he is involved with The Houston Minority Supplier Development Council MBEI Committee, The American Association of Blacks in Energy, Clean Energy for America, the Clean Energy Business Network, the International Solar Society, The Microgrid Consortium, The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and the Environmental Entrepreneurs (E2).
