Jonathan Lee is an innovator and technology expert in electric power systems and microgrids. In a cross-functional role as Director of Research at New Sun Road, he supports company strategy, serves as principal investigator for R&D and technology commercialization projects with the DoE, CEC, and EPRI, is the lead developer for analytics, forecasting, and predictive optimization in Stellar AI, and contributes to control algorithm design and system architecture. His current focus areas include grid-interactive microgrid controls, networked microgrids, cybersecurity, AI, V2X, utility microgrids, and microgrids for data centers. He has been working in renewable energy and electric power since 2012, is a co-founder of New Sun Road, and holds a PhD in Energy and Resources and MS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from UC Berkeley.
