Networked Microgrids for Reliable Local Power (PANEL)
Maximiliano Ferrari Jonathan Lee Katie Bronchetti
Description

A network of microgrids is an electrically connected group of two or more individual microgrids, each having the capability to island itself and operate autonomously, and to also operate connected to the group. Building upon the value proposition of single microgrids, networked microgrids can offer increased resilience, lower operating costs, and improvements to local distribution grid reliability.

This panel will present the current status of networked microgrids and case study projects highlighting the goals, challenges and benefits of networking microgrids.
